Its that time of year again! The 2024/2025 NBA basketball season has started with a full slate of games beginning October 22nd with the Boston Celtics being serenaded as the NBA Champions and the team to beat this season!

B1G TEN MEDIA DAY is an annual 2-day event where teams provide insight and compelling images of what the prospects are for their respective teams for the upcoming season. The selected media cover the women’s programs on one day and the men’s programs the following day.

COACH RAY SIMS. When I think about, or hear his name spoken it brings back many memories of the numerous battles that he and I had when he coached at Snider High School while I was roaming the sidelines at Elmhurst High School.

Well they’re over! The flames have been vanquished, medals awarded, and the 2024 Olympic Games are now history! I don’t know about you out there that are reading this, but I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this event! I became a fan of sports that I wouldn’t have DREAMED of being a part of just because it was the OLYMPICS!

Who’s your WNBA Rookie of the Year?
This season has been one for the ages in the WNBA. The league is experiencing growth at unprecedented levels as more fans are coming out to watch these talented players than ever before.

One of the toughest things to do for a high school student to do is try to juggle sports (and the demands of that) along with trying to manage your academics and keep your grades at the level that not only your parents expect, but you as a student/athlete expect as well.

Stephen A. Smith. What images does this man, or name conjure up in your mind? Now before you go into YOUR own thoughts of what he is, or means, to you, I have to share that this piece is of my OWN thoughts. Not necessarily about Stephen A. the MAN but more about this polarizing figure who,

This piece is very off-script for me as most of my stories are about sports, community members, or topics that I feel would be of particular interest to readers of Fort Wayne Ink Spot. In today’s UNSCRIPTED I want to pay homage to a woman that inspired, admonished, and loved me with the most definitive meaning of unconditional love.

Our capital city of Indianapolis will host the NBA’s 73rd annual All-Star Game the weekend of February 16-18, 2024, with events scheduled at Lucas Oil Stadium, Gainbridge Fieldhouse and the Indiana Convention Center.

Chynna Presley is a woman that has overcome the pains of life’s adversities by having an unyielding desire to capture life’s “bouquets” and vase them into triumphs that can only be attributed to having a strong faith and belief system that serves as the “roots of her foundation” and frame her testimony to the world that she’s not a VICTIM but instead a VICTOR as she shares her story and new book with us today. As we begin the 2023/2024 season of girls high school basketball, I wanted to share that I’ve become a HUGE fan of the women’s game! The elevation of the game on the collegiate level as well as the WNBA has made me take notice of what’s going on. I’m very fortunate to be deeply involved in women’s basketball by being an AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) coach so I get the opportunity to see the very talented young ladies in our area on a regular basis and trust me when I say that this season will be…LOADED with talent! Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has led the University of Colorado’s football program back to a level of prominence this season that no one expected but himself. The attention that has been placed on this football team and school is gathering notice,

It’s always refreshing for me to have the opportunity to spend time in the presence of someone that is engaging, informative, and driven by what they do. Those attributes are what made todays guest on UNSCRIPTED Tony Betton Jr. a delight for me to interview. Tony is a young man who left the comforts of his home in Atlanta, Georgia and has come into our city and embraced it with his “sense of community” attitude and aura.
