Downtown Improvement District-Lunch Means More

Thank you to Barnes & Thornburg LLP for partnering with us for "Lunch Means More" during this summer’s Lunch on the Square! Growing Lives Foundation was awarded $3,500, reflecting the amounts generated through food sales and the firm's matching gift.

The program was integrated to allow patrons and businesses the opportunity to give back to an organization that set out to make a difference in the local community. Each Thursday, one of 12 food trucks was the featured food provider of the week, where 15% of their sales that day were matched and donated by Barnes & Thornburg LLP to a local nonprofit organization. Lunch Means More is the perfect combination of doing well (and eating well) by doing good.

The Growing Lives Foundation was co-founded by Carlos Brooks, a University of Saint Francis alumni and Fort Wayne native. The organization focuses on “empowering, educating, and uplifting students for a brighter future” by “[removing] societal barriers…to live a life otherwise unattainable.” Barnes & Thornburg LLP and Downtown Fort Wayne are pleased to partner on this program and look forward to bettering our community through shared efforts.
