Retired Pastor Celebrates 100 Years of Extraordinary Life and Service

On February 16, 2024, the family of Rev. Sam Shade, Jr. celebrated their patriarch's 100th birthday with a celebration in Fort Wayne, IN.

Rev. Shade's life exemplifies dedication to faith, family, and community. A devoted husband and father of eight, his spiritual guidance has touched generations within his family. For over half his life, he has served in ministry, spreading the word of God through countless baptisms, weddings, counseling sessions, and other acts of service.

His business acumen is equally impressive. Guided by his faith, Rev. Shade spearheaded the construction of a multi-million dollar house of worship, securing funding and uniting the congregation to achieve this incredible feat. His leadership resulted in the church paying off its 30-year mortgage in half the time.

“Rev. Shade is a pillar of our community and inspiration to us all," says son Gregory Shade. "His unwavering faith and dedication has touched so many lives. We are honored to celebrate this incredible milestone with him."

The family has published a tribute to their father who lives at home with his wife and daughter. .
